North Plains "the City to the Sunset" is  community with a population of 1,970 located approximately 15 miles west or Portland Oregon. 

 Our community enjoys a high quality of life, that includes excellent schools and service organizations committed to making a stronger community, including the North Plains Events Association, Chamber of Commerce, Knights of Pythias, and Garden Club. 

The community has existed for almost 100 years, with formal incorporation as a City occurring in 1963.  Residents enjoy the benefits of well-managed infrastructure of improved streets, parks, and water systems.  Wastewater systems are provided by the regional Clean Water Services agency. 

A professional staff of 10.5 full-time and 17 part-time/volunteer employees assists Council and residents with budgeting, police services, planning, building, utility billing, and public works maintenance.
