The North Plains Municipal Court was established in 1970 to address code violations. The Municipal Court is responsible for processing citations and complaints issued by the North Plains Police Department within the City limits of North Plains.
The Municipal Court staff is responsible for coordinating arraignment hearings and trials, processing and accounting for violation citations and complaints, issuing warrants and suspension of driving privileges, and collections of fines. The Court staff is available Tuesday - Thursday 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. to answer any questions you might have. Department Objectives
- To provide fair, timely, and speedy resolution of cases involving violations, infractions in a manner which is efficient both for the City and for the defendants/citizens.
- To ensure defendants' strict compliance with judicial orders, including the payment of Court ordered fines and fees and the completion of Court-ordered Traffic Safety Classes.
- To ensure timely processing of all monies received, as well as the reconciliation of these accounts and forwarding of mandatory payments to the appropriate parties.
Court is held in two different locations in the City so check the schedule to verify which facility you should attend. The Municipal Court Offices are located at North Plains City Hall, 31360 NW Commercial Street, North Plains, Oregon 97133. Municipal Court is generally held the second Monday of each month at 9:00 a.m. in the Jessie Mays Community Hall, 30975 NW Hillcrest Street, North Plains, Oregon 97133.
