The North Plains Municipal Court offers Traffic Safety Classes to those who qualify. The court clerk will determine if you qualify after reviewing your driving record. If you qualify for a Traffic Safety Class the Court Clerk will notify you by mail.

There are four classes available. Please see the requirements below.

Eligibility Requirements - Traffic Safety Level I
Eligibility Requirements - Traffic Safety Level II
Eligibility Requirements - Traffic Safety Level III

Eligibility Requirements Seatbelt and Basic Traffic Safety

1. The violation amount must not be more than $125.00.
2. The defendant receiving the citation must be willing to participate in the program.
3. The violation must have occurred within the city limits of North Plains.
4. Defendant must be willing to give up your right to a speedy trial, in accordance with ORS 135.891.
5. Defendants with more than one moving violation on their driving record in the last four years shall be deemed ineligible.
6. Defendant will only be allowed to attend this class one time. Any further violations you receive will be ineligible for this program.

Basic Traffic Safety Class Options

1. OTSI seatbelt and basic traffic safety.
Cost : $70.00 paid to the court
$40.00 paid to OTSI
Class Length: 2 hour

$ 40.00 to OTSI
Class length : 2-3 hours

Cost : $145.00 to the court

Class length: 5 hours
Class location : This class is taken at home over the Internet.

This class is offered for Traffic Safety Level I only

1. The violation amount must not be more than $335.00.
2. The defendant receiving the citation must be willing to participate in the program.
3. The violation must have occurred within the city limits of North Plains.
4. Defendant must be willing to give up your right to a speedy trial, in accordance with ORS 135.891.
5. Defendants with more than one moving violation on their driving record in the last four years shall be deemed ineligible, unless otherwise determined by the judge.
6. Defendant will only be allowed to attend this class one time. Any further violations you receive will be ineligible for this program.

Level II Traffic Safety Class Options

1. OTSI traffic safety level II class.
Cost : $275.00 to the court
$ 60.00 to OSTI
Class Length : 2-3 hours
