Chapter 16.19 Sign Standards |

The City of North Plains Planning Commission and City Council will be conducting public hearings to accept testimony on the proposed new chapter of the Municipal Code Zoning and Development Code Ordinance Chapter 16.19 Sign Standards.
The Planning Commission will conduct a public hearing during its March 10, 2010, regular meeting, on the proposed new chapter language. The City Council is scheduled to consider the proposed revisions and also conduct a public hearing during its March 15, 2010, regular meeting.

2010 Centennial Celebration Planning Committee |

Are you interested in helping plan and develop programs and events? The City Council formed a new 2010 Centennial Celebration Planning Committee on Monday, October 19, 2009, and is seeking people in the community who are interested in serving on this committee.
Next year will be the 100th year anniversary of the city, and everyone is encouraged to participate in the planning process.

Direct Pay is available for your water bill and is a free service. Sign up to have your water bill paid by Direct Debit. Come into City Hall and fill out a Direct Debit Authorization form and attach a voided check. Or, print the Direct Debit form and drop in the night drop box on the door of City Hall facing Commercial Street. The payment will be automatically deducted from your account within a day or two of your billing due date. Volunteers Needed!
North Plains benefits from the generosity of those who are willing to share their time and talents. Please consider joining this distinctive group of citizens. Volunteer applications are available at City Hall.
Budget Committee: 3 members are needed to serve on the 14 member Budget Committee. The Budget Committee is comprised of 7 Councilors/Board members and 7 citizens. The Budget Committee meets 3-4 times annually, typically around February through June, at 7:00 p.m. in the Jessie Mays Community Hall. The Comittee reviews draft budgets and recommends proposed budgets for approval. Citizen Committee members serve three year terms of office, expiring December 31st.
Planning Commission: 1 member is needed to serve on the 7 member Planning Commission. The Planning Commission meets the second Wednesday of the month at 7:00 p.m. in the Jessie Mays Community Hall. The Commission considers land use applications and reviews the Zoning and Development Code for necessary revisions. Commissioners serve four year terms of office, expiring December 31st.. |
