About Us

libraryinterorfromdoor1The mission of the Library revised in 2022 is: Through equitable access to our collection and services, we empower gathering, connection, lifelong learning and creativity.

The North Plains Public Library is a 2,500 square foot facility adjacent to City Hall which houses over 16,000 items. 

The library’s collection of popular materials includes fiction and non-fiction books for adults, teens, and children, magazines, newspapers, books on CD, DVDs, Spanish language materials, large print books, and reference books. Electronic resources are also available. Audiobooks and e-books are available to download to your devices.

The North Plains Public Library is a proud member of the Washington County Cooperative Library Services (WCCLS), a group of 16 libraries that share resources and financing. Items may be borrowed from these other libraries and will be brought to the North Plains Public library for checkout. Each day, thousands of items are picked up and delivered by courier to each of the libraries in the cooperative.

We provide a weekly Preschool & Bookbabies storytimes and offering events and programs for all ages. The annual summer reading program is for all ages.

The Library has six Windows 8 computers. All computers have filtering options available for users. Free WiFi is available.
