7. Library Director & Mentors Report

  • On November 15-16, the school bazaar will be held at the Community Hall. The Friends of the NPPL will be gift wrapping for a fundraiser.
  • The Friends are also organizing a Santa Holiday Program for all ages Dec. 13.

    8. Library Assistant position proposal
    A packet of materials updating the City Council on the status of the library was put together by the director. Cindi will be asking the council to consider allocating funds for a part-time Volunteer Coordinator to help up keep the library doors open. We will be asking for $3619.12 to fund the position, including minimal benefits. The packet includes an organizational chart, position description, summary chart of circulation statistics, comparison chart of WCCLS libraries, NPPL Service area map and recommended salary range chart.

    9. Circulation Desk Update
    Cindi asked Alan Hayes to come and do a rough estimate for labor and kind of wood for building a circulation desk. Some adjustments to the plan will be necessary. Cindi will give us another update at the next board meeting.

    10. Grant Opportunities Update
    The Tech Crew (Carolyn, Tom and Mark) will be meeting with Cindi to do an inventory and begin a needs assessment for technological advancements.
