and second by Craig Edwards to approve minutes for
June 30, 2004
. Approved unanimously.
- New
Building “Steering Committee” update:

Cindy provided an update on the Capital Campaign. The plan will be
in place by mid-September.
·
Once all of the legal documents are in place, the architect can
schedule the civil engineer to begin the preliminary work.
Anticipated groundbreaking will be May, 2005 with possible opening in
November, 2005.
- Introduce
New Library Director: No
one hired yet. There were 10 applicants for the position.
The final cut resulted in 4 applicants to interview.
The City Manager is scheduling interview appointments for August 9.
Craig and Cindy are on the panel.
- Discussion
of exceptions to PG, PG-13 & R parental guidance checkout:
- Discussion
postponed until new library director is hired.
- Discussion
of Library Access: Door
code for the key should be changed because too many people know the code,
many of whom no longer volunteer. We
also need to follow up to know who is keeping track of the key distribution.
Carolyn made a motion to change the code number to the door key box
with Terri Palmer and Diane Van Grunsven coordinating who will know the
code. Second by Cindy Hirst.
Motion approved unanimously. Carolyn
will contact Terri and Diane and also find out who knows how to set the new
code. The code will be changed
on August 15th.
- Court
Time Conflict: Carolyn
will call Amber at City Hall to get the court dates for as far ahead as
possible and court hours. Carolyn
will talk about the schedule with Terri Palmer.
