Parks & Recreation

parks and recreation logoThe City of North Plains is always working to enhance and expand parks and open spaces to improve the livability of our community. Parks and Recreation, a division of the Public Works Department, offers and maintains nine parks, a community garden, and the Ghost Creek and West Union Pedestrian Paths.

The Parks and Recreation Division also works to provide and encourage active recreation for healthy lives, including partnering with Ride with GPS to offer Cycle North Plains local cycling route planning to residents and visitors. New for summer 2023, the City is also partnering with the YMCA to offer three youth sports camps - get details here.

The Parks Master Plan outlines the goals of Parks and Recreation, and funding comes from the Parks System Development Charges assessed to new development within the city, as well as General Fund revenues, grants, and contributions from our partner North Plains Parks Foundation, a not-for-profit organization.
