The Oregon Mayors Association (OMA) is pleased to announce our annual “If I Were Mayor” student contest for the 2023-24 school year.

We invite and encourage all school-age children, from elementary school, to middle school, through high school to participate in this statewide contest.  Along with the documents included below, another resource that can help your students to learn more about local government, including the duties of mayors can be found in the Civic Education Toolkit that is produced by the Oregon City/County Management Association. 

There will be one elementary poster finalist, one middle school essay finalist, and one high school media presentation finalist to be entered in the Oregon Mayor's Association statewide contest.  Local entries must be received by Friday, March 29, 2024.

We look forward to North Plains students participating in this fun and educational contest with an opportunity to win great prizes!
